Belgian street artist ROA has painted mural art all over the world. His spray cans and brushes have covered walls all over Europe, Canada, New Zealand, and now LA.
On the corner of Imperial and Jesse in the downtown LA Warehouse District you can now see some of his fantastic and large pieces. The rat, the squirrel tail, the dinosaur. All done in black an white, monochromatic, as he typically prefers to express himself.
ROA seems to like animal and paints creatures indigenous of the city he is working in. And he does it with purpose. He is an "artivist" or art activist who has a message. ROA was quoted to say “I wanted to draw attention to how they and many other species become a victim of hunting and pollution.” He highlights the ruthless, man-made world animals are forced to live in.
I love animals. I love his work. I love the mesage.
