Street art is often seen as the raw, untrained or violent expressions of art. For the past 20 years a lot of angst, terrible messaging and negativity has been seen on walls all over the world. It's sign of our tumultuous times.
But the message of love and peace exist in street art too and the simplicity of the words can be seen thought the streets of LA and NY. The new crop of world graffiti is positive and crosses the border of artivism and positive imaging. A perfect example is the Gratitude Graffiti project in New Jersey where they are encouraging residents to use markers to write statements of gratitude on walls and windows. It makes you smile more and makes you feel good when you pass by these simple messages.
Be cool. Be positive.
